Puyallup high school junior brings her talents to the state House

Rogers High School student Arianna Weber recently served as a page in the Washington State House of Representatives.

“It was a pleasure to see Arianna at the Capitol, and she did a great job,” said Rep. Cyndy Jacobsen, R-Puyallup, who sponsored Arianna. “And because she was in Olympia during the first week of the 2026 legislative session, she saw opening ceremonies and speeches, as well as witnessed us voting on the House floor.”

The page program helps students like Arianna gain valuable insight into the legislative process while contributing to the Legislature’s operations.

“The page program benefits greatly from students who bring their talents and perspectives to this civic experience,” Jacobsen said.

During her week in Olympia, Arianna performed essential legislative duties, including delivering time-sensitive documents to representatives, facilitating communication between offices, and assisting with the day-to-day functioning of the Legislature.

Arianna also attended Page School, where students develop a comprehensive understanding of Washington’s legislative system.

In addition to her interest in politics, the 11th grader enjoys art and reading. Some of Arianna’s drawings were even featured in a recent art show at her school.

She is also involved in her local youth group.

“The House page program is a valuable educational opportunity,” said Jacobsen. “Students like Arianna gain firsthand experience with our democratic process, and I hope it instills in them a lifelong interest in civics and public service.”

The legislative page program bridges Washington’s youth and their state government, fostering civic engagement and providing practical educational experiences.
