Rep. Cyndy Jacobsen talks to radio host Lars Larson about drug policies that do more harm than good
Rep. Cyndy Jacobsen, R-Puyallup, went on KXL radio’s Lars Larson Show to talk about how drug policies in Washington are “killing people with kindness.”
Jacobsen said she opposed House Bill 1574 because it wouldn’t allow the police to enforce an active warrant if someone overdosed. The bill also expands access to drug paraphernalia, including clean needles.
“These programs don’t reduce deaths,” said Jacobsen. “We have 3,000 drug-related deaths per year in Washington.”
Jacobsen supports holding addicts accountable and getting them into treatment.
“Addiction is crippling,” she said.
